Requirements:
Two-year college diploma in a relevant discipline, plus supplementary job-related training through credit or non-credit courses, seminars, workshops, training sessions or equivalent combination of experience and education.
1.5 years of experience working in a Maker Space or similar facility.
Familiarity with the operation and processes involved with 3D printing, laser cutting, sewing, scrapbooking, etc., in a lab or educational setting is preferred.
Experience with graphic design, video, and sound editing is preferred.
Proven success and experience with learning new technologies and software systems.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Flexible attitude and ability to adapt to a changing environment.
Public library experience is preferred.
Willingness to develop new skills and participate in professional development opportunities.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Current Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Ability to commute to various locations for program delivery on a regular basis.
Up to 6 months period of adjustment, orientation, and adaptation on the job.
Description:
Plans, promotes, evaluates, and delivers Maker programs (registered, drop-in, demonstrations) in both the library and the community for all ages. May collaborate with other GPL programming staff to plan and deliver programs.
Delivers services including individual & group instruction and general troubleshooting & support to customers using the various Maker spaces & equipment available at the Library.
Maintains and updates Maker equipment.
Responds to customer inquiries related to maker spaces, equipment, and services.
Maintains and coordinates movement of supplies related to Maker spaces, and other administrative functions.
Drafts policies and procedures for use of Maker spaces and equipment.
Creates and/or drafts and maintains displays of library materials, flyers, and pamphlets.
Participates in staff meetings and training opportunities as appropriate.
Performs circulation duties including: checking materials in and out; placing reserves on materials; renewing/updating and/or processing new memberships; providing members with information about programs, services, resources and policies; extending loan renewals; answering circulation desk inquiries in person and by telephone/fax; resolving issues on patron records, tallying shift statistics; cash handling; collecting fines; typing and photocopying.
Provides in-depth reader’s advisory/reference service to patrons, including reference interview, searching library databases, and basic troubleshooting of computer issues.
Participates in the Town’s Health and Safety Program and follows safety practices in work methods and procedures; observes and complies with all relevant Health & Safety regulations.

Rate of Pay:
$29.42 to $32.68 per hour
