Knowledge of The Alpine Responsibility Code
Ability to work in and withstand severe cold and adverse weather conditions;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check (must be current within one year).
Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C is considered an asset.
Level 1 Certified Instructor (CSIA or CASI) or willingness to attain certification prior to season start.
Description: Plans, implements and instructs safe ski and/or snowboard lessons.
Assesses all participants and completes the appropriate report card at the end of each session;
Monitors participants and adapts lessons as necessary;
Performs lesson preparations (i.e. as on-hill set up and tear down, structured lesson plans, etc.);
Demonstrates a high level of customer service and provides this service on the front-line of operation.
Interacts with participants, staff, spectators and community members;
Follows up with parent/guardian at the end of each lesson regarding the students' progression;
Performs administrative tasks to support the program as assigned by the Recreation Programmer;
Ensures all participants are wearing industry standard equipment required for their lesson (helmet, boots, bindings, skis and snowboard).
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays (Christmas Break, Family Day weekend and March Break).
Hours per week: schedule varies throughout the week (4-30)
