Requirements: • Millwright License or equivalent. • Must possess a high school diploma or Equivalent. • A minimum of 4 years working experience with mechanical, electrical; including set-up, adjustments, and troubleshooting. • Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment (Food industry is highly preferred). • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures is an asset. • Knowledge of preventative maintenance program is an asset. • Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Flexible to move between shifts to meet department requirements. • Complete all other duties as instructed and assigned by Leader. •Knowledge of using any CMMS is preferred.
Description: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing overall mechanical support to the production group in the areas of packaging as well as processing and facilities to ensure continuous operations.
• Perform all maintenance on plant equipment in a safe manner, ensure equipment and machines are in good working condition while following GMP. • Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment, and facilities in the processing & packaging departments. • Diagnose problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving. • Perform both corrective and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment. • A good understanding of the mechanical and electrical components in manufacturing equipment. • Experience with drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools. • Provide recommendations for continual improvements and maximize efficiencies. • Setup, takedown, and relocation of Bakery and Packaging equipment. • Assist production in setting up the equipment on the line. • Fill out shift report electronically for specific issues or tasks completed during shift. • Responsible for maintaining and organizing the shop and toolbox. • Rotating continental shifts and vacation fill in. Hours per week: Continental Shifts, rotating days/nights every 2 weeks 20-40 hrs per week - Shift Work
Rate of Pay: $33.50 per hr - based on experience
