To support people who have an intellectual disability to achieve their personal goals, as they relate to work and alternative options. Facilitate relationships, skills and roles which promote their effective participation in the typical and valued life of the community.

A drivers license is required.
Description: QUALIFICATIONS:
• DSW or equivalent, preferably with a minimum of two years experience working with people who have an intellectual disability
• Ability to support behavioural needs and protocols
• Previous experience supporting people who have mental health diagnosis and dealing with high anxiety situations
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to follow and create Support Plans
• Ability to relate to the specific support needs of the people supported at said location
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills including written and verbal
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and some experience scheduling
• Current First Aid, CPR and Non-violent Crisis Intervention certificates
• Proven use of CPI strategies including verbal de-escalation
• Training in dispensing medications
• Valid driver’s licence, insurance and reliable vehicle
• Commitment to providing supports to people in accordance with Social Role Valorization
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (applicants will need it upon hire and it must be done within the 6 months prior).

There are 3 shifts available: 8 am-3pm,, 2:30PM-10PM and 10PM-8AM.
