Requirements: Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a private career college is preferred
-Post-secondary education in accounting or finance or related fields such as business administration is desirable
-Previous experience working with the Ontario Student Assistance Program and Federal government loan programs is an asset.
-Advanced knowledge of Office 365
-Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
-Detail-oriented with highly developed follow-up skills
-Demonstrated ability to work independently and as well as part of a team
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to effectively communicate in Tigrinya or Amharic would be an asset

Looking for an exceptional Financial Aid Coordinator to join admissions team.


Duties include:

-Interview and provide students with information regarding the application process, their eligibility for Federal/Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) financial assistance and other available financing options.
-Inform students of their financial obligations, the institution’s financial aid options, and financial policies and procedures as related to their educational expenses.
-Review financial applications and disclosure statements for completeness and accuracy and advise them of their obligation to provide accurate information (e.g. income verification) and the potential consequences related to their application and funding process.
-Perform all student-related finance and accounting functions on student database to allow for timely follow up and completion in accordance with government and college policies and procedures.
-Monitor and follow up on the status of all pending student loan documents.
-Monitor student academic progress as per the OSAP Academic Guidelines.
-Provide exceptional customer service and answer student inquiries regarding financial status and information, advice and clarification to student questions regarding OSAP policies and procedures.
Hours per week: Weekends as needed, Day shift, Monday to Friday 40
Rate of Pay: $51,900–$57,000 a year
