Job Title: Road Construction Groundperson   Date Posted: 04/15/24 Ref. Number: 400 Type: Full Time Part Time Location: Markham Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Driver's license with clean driving abstract. Experience on a milling or paving crew. Ability to travel and work nights and weekends, when required. Driver's license is not required but must be able to reliable commute to operations yard in Markham. Preferred Qualifications: Mechanically inclined. Knowledge of grades: cross slops, super elevations, offset grades, swales. You will operate machinery on highway and private contracts as well as other heavy equipment in road construction operations. You many be required to clean, service, and lubricate the equipment and perform minor repairs. Attention to detail will be essential when conducting pre-operational checks on equipment, completing maintenance records and daily equipment logs. Strong communication will also be important as you operate two-way radios and other communication devices to ensure you are always in touch with the crew. Every day you will lead by example by promoting, leading, and executing a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors, consultants, and the public.
