Description: We are a York Region community based not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping people get to where they need to go on their journey since 1989. We help those who are experiencing social, physical, mental, and financial limitations to using common transportation methods, and are there in times of need for members of our communities. Routes is looking for a Driver for our Accessible Van that will enable us to expand our services to York Region residents with accessibility needs. The Routes Community Driver will pick up and transport. residents to their medical appointments and activities for daily life, and when not driving passengers, will be delivering and posting Routes information in the community. Hourly Rate: This is a Part-Time position paying $21 per hour. Status: One (1) temporary opportunity for up to 8 Months. Hours: 20 hours/week with flexible hours depending on resident transportation needs. Some evening and weekend work required. Application deadline: 2024-04-26 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Operate an accessible van with chair lift or ramp • Provide exceptional quality customer service while driving. • Perform and record driver safety checks and monitor regular maintenance of vehicle. • Communicate all driving and maintenance concerns to the Executive Director/Operations Manager. • Provide support to clients and connect with the Routes team for referrals to other programs and services. • Maintain vehicle, professional appearance and attitude at all times.
