Requirements:
High School diploma or completion of related post-secondary program (developmental services or a related field of human services).
A minimum of three months experience working with people with highly aggressive behaviours, dual diagnosis including mental health (e.g., developmental disabilities + mental health), intellectual disabilities and medical needs.
Experience in behaviour observation and tracking.
Knowledge of implementation of behaviour support plans.
Current Standard First Aid Level C / CPR or ready to be trained.
Current NVCI (non-violent crisis intervention) or ready to be trained.
A valid Ontario driver’s license (G2 or G).
Availability to work flexible weekday, evening and weekend hours, overnight awake positions are also available.
Description:
Employer is currently seeking experienced direct support professionals who have the drive and passion for supporting high behaviour people with physical and developmental disabilities. Direct support professionals at CLASS work in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a welcoming, safe and healthy living environment for clients with challenging aggressive behaviours. Candidates must have direct experience supporting people with dual diagnosis including mental health, and a dedication to serve people with unique but severe emotional and behavioural difficulties.
