Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the field of repairs and maintenance
High school diploma or general education degree
Related degree from a technical college and/or technical certifications (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) would be an asset
Plumbing and electrical experience required
Proficient with basic handheld power tools and electrical tools
Attention to details and excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills (Outlook and Word)
Ability to read and understand blueprints and/or repair manuals
Strong organizational and follow up skills
Professional presentation, communication and attitude
Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract, insurance and reliable vehicle
Vulnerable Sector Screening (must be valid within 6 month of potential start date)
Experience working in a non-profit is an asset WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed
Required to work in many different locations throughout the day
Physical Requirements include reaching, kneeling, standing, bending, lifting
Required to meet a number of deadlines and multi-task
May be exposed to potentially hazardous environments bracket bodily waste and fluids, chemical cleaning substances, loud noises, grease and fumes
Description: RESPONSIBILITIES:

Comply with safety regulations, maintain a clean and orderly work area
Participate in various aspects of building maintenance requirements, including updates and new constructions
Complete work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work as assigned
Maintain adequate supplies for the maintenance department
Complete all necessary reports and records related to the department as required
Perform regular workplace inspections to determine areas that need maintenance or repair
Ensure that any required maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner
Prepare, paint and indoor and exterior surfaces as required
Operate grounds-keeping power equipment and complete outside maintenance as required
Perform minor construction work, g., dismantling and erecting walls, finishing carpentry work, pouring concrete, etc.
Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain various electrical components, appliances and equipment in accordance with pertinent codes as required
Troubleshoot, install, and repair plumbing fixtures, piping, and related equipment (if applicable)
Change furnace filters as needed
Report to the Manager any situations where outside expertise is required
Store chemicals and other dangerous substances in a secure environment and in accordance with the Workplace Hazardous Information Systems
Rectifying unsafe conditions and/or reporting irreparable conditions to the Manager or a Director
Participate in Association education and training as required
Hours per week: weekends and nights availability 37.5
Rate of Pay: 31.79/hour
