Training: Familiarity with pharmacy software and medication terminology is beneficial.

Skills: Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and customer service abilities are essential. Basic math skills are also important for handling prescriptions and dosages.

Certification: Organizations like the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) offer certifications that can enhance job prospects.

Experience: Having prior work in a healthcare setting can be an advantage.
Description: Customer Service: Greet and assist customers, answer questions about medications, and provide information on pharmacy services.

Prescription Management: Receive and process prescriptions, including verifying patient information and ensuring accuracy in medication dispensing.

Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels, restock medications and supplies, and assist with ordering and receiving stock.

Medication Preparation: Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, including compounding and labeling.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including prescription histories and medication profiles.

Cash Handling: Process payments, manage cash registers, and handle financial transactions accurately.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety standards, including proper storage and disposal of medications.
