Description: . Package Pickup and Delivery
Pickup: Collect parcels from a warehouse, distribution center, or other locations, ensuring they are sorted correctly for delivery.
Delivery: Drive the assigned vehicle to customers' homes or businesses, following designated routes for timely deliveries.
Route Management: Plan and follow delivery routes to minimize delays and fuel consumption, ensuring on-time deliveries.
2. Package Handling
Loading and Unloading: Load parcels into the vehicle in a safe and organized manner, ensuring fragile items are handled carefully.
Inspecting Packages: Check the accuracy of packages before delivering, ensuring they are labeled correctly and in good condition.
Scan and Track: Use scanning devices to track packages and update delivery statuses in real-time.
3. Customer Interaction
Delivery Confirmation: Obtain signatures or other proof of delivery (e.g., photos or confirmation codes).
Customer Service: Address any customer queries or concerns regarding their deliveries, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Problem Solving: Handle issues like missed deliveries, address changes, or damaged parcels, and report problems to the appropriate department.
4. Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
Vehicle Inspections: Conduct daily vehicle checks, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness.
Safety Compliance: Ensure the vehicle is operated safely, following all traffic laws, and maintaining a high level of driving safety.
Fuel Management: Maintain fuel levels and manage fuel costs during deliveries.
5. Documentation and Reporting
Delivery Logs: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including the time, location, and recipient’s signature.
Route Reporting: Report any delays, detours, or challenges during the delivery process to the supervisor or logistics team.
6. Adherence to Schedules
Timely Deliveries: Ensure packages are delivered within the designated time frames, often meeting strict deadlines.
Route Adjustments: Adapt to unexpected situations (traffic, road closures, etc.) while still meeting delivery targets.
7. Compliance and Regulations
Legal Compliance: Adhere to all transportation laws, including licensing and insurance requirements.
Safety Standards: Follow company policies on health and safety and handle packages in compliance with regulatory standards (especially if handling hazardous materials or perishables).
8. Technology Use
GPS and Routing Software: Use GPS devices or delivery management apps to find the most efficient route and track deliveries in real-time.
Mobile Devices: Operate mobile technology for package scanning, customer updates, and reporting.
Hours per week: Mon - Fri (Weekends/ Evenings as required) 40
