Must be a critical thinker, including ability to be proactive with work and decisions. Must be a quick learner and one who can retain information learned. Must be detail oriented. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Education and Experience: College Diploma in Human Resources highly preferred / will consider several years of relevant experience in lieu of diploma. 3+ years HR experience. CHRP or SHRM-CP (highly preferred) or willing to work towards professional designation. Driver's license (preferred)
Description:
The HR Generalist will work with the HR Business Partners to support day to day HR Functions as well as key initiatives and projects. This will include (but not be limited to on-boarding, recruitment, performance management, compliance, conflict resolution, labour relations and learning and development. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Works directly with and reports to the Human Resource Business Partner. Create and implement strategies for performance management, recruitment, onboarding and labour relations.
Assess and implement strategies to improve workplace efficiency and productivity. Handles employee concerns in a professional and confidential manner. Assists supervisors and managers with disciplinary procedures. Improve, implement and administer HR policies and procedures. Support in assisting employees with benefit related questions to include both short- and long-term leaves of absence.
Administrative support and/or direct management of HR documents, templates, policies & procedures. Support with Onboarding, Job postings, setting up interviews etc. Coordinate HR related meetings & events. Run ad hoc reports as requested. Update employee records
Remain up to date on relevant regulations to ensure the company complies with federal and provincial laws. Must be willing and able to work some evenings, weekends and holidays. All other duties as assigned. Work Conditions/Physical Demands. Must be able to work in an open office environment where noise level is low - to moderate
Must be able to work basic office equipment, such as laptops, keyboards, scanners/copiers, including packing, lifting and moving HR files when and if needed. The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand. Use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms. Vision abilities include close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Must practice safe work methods to remain accident and injury free. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and printer. Required to travel locally, overnight or internationally.
