Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent designation preferred; CFA (or in progress) is an asset.
Minimum 5 years’ experience, preferable in private equity, fund accounting and/or family office; public accounting experience preferred.
Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel with strong proficiency in developing templates and financial modeling.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external advisors.

Job Overview
The Manager, Investment and Corporate is a key member of the Corporate Accounting team that will assist the Director of Finance in investment and corporate accounting. Working closely with the executives and owners of the Company Group, the Manager, Investment and Corporate Accounting will be the leader overseeing the accounting, compliance and tax strategy of the Group’s family office investments. This role will also be assisting with the financial reporting and tax compliance of the various corporate entities of the Group.
Key Responsibilities – Investment Accounting
Manage the accounting of the investment portfolio of the Group’s investment division and family foundation, which includes publicly traded securities, derivatives, venture capital investments, and private equity fund investments in Canada, US and globally.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all investment transactions including capital calls and distributions in the private equity investment funds; prepare and maintain monthly investment tracking reports.
Monitor cash position in different brokerage accounts and line of credit and ensure best practice in cash management.
Oversee tax compliance, reporting, and planning related to the investment portfolio, working closely with external advisors to ensure adherence to tax regulations in both Canada and the US.
Key Responsibilities – Corporate Accounting
Assist in the preparation and review of the month-end closing and financial statements for various corporate entities within the Group.
Support tax compliance efforts, including the preparation and/review of corporate tax returns and filings for relevant entities.
Collaborate with external accountants to ensure all timely completion of the year-end audit and review; servicing as the primary liaison with external accountants on certain corporate entities.
Prepare consolidated financial statements of the Group.
Other ad-hoc tasks as required and assigned.
