Job Title: Sales Associate/ Cashier   Date Posted: 01/16/25 Ref. Number: 879 Type: Full Time Part Time Location: Scarborough Requirements: A well -known retail store in Scarborough is looking for outgoing and motivated individuals who enjoy working in a fun, team oriented environment. The right candidate will be available to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Minimum weekly requirements for availability are 2 days per week (Monday-Friday) 2pm-9pm and Sunday 10:30am-7pm. Responsibilities include providing a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner. Additional responsibilities include assisting store management in daily store operations like buying and appraising, tagging, and stocking of used merchandise, processing sales and returns, answering phones, communicating the buy process to our customers, and any other tasks associated with being a sales associate. Applicants should only apply if they are able to work 25+ hours a week and must be able to work evenings after 2pm (2pm-9pm) and at least one day on weekend (Saturday 12-9pm/2-9pm or Sunday 10:30am-7pm). Preference will be given to those that have weekly regular Sunday availability. Description: The right candidate must meet the following criteria: 1. Above average communication skills as the most important part of this position is effectively explaining to our customers about our buy process 2. Outgoing - Extraverted personality 3. Great customer service 4. Basic math skills 5. Ability to stand continuously without sitting for 5 hours 6. Ability to correctly lift and carry 40 pound storage bins sometimes going up and down stairs 7. Ability to work independently and to motivate oneself to stay busy and on task 8. Ability to handle customers with sensitivity 9. Ability to work at a fast pace with accuracy 10. Must have flexibility with work schedules; holidays and weekends are a must 11. Must be able to arrive a minimum of 10 minutes before your scheduled shift as punctuality is of most importance to us 12.
