Job Title: Handyman   Date Posted: 01/23/25 Ref. Number: 317 Type: Full Time Part Time Location: Greater Toronto Area Requirements: • Post-secondary certificate in Building Maintenance or a related discipline or equivalent approved combination of education and experience. • A handyperson capable and comfortable in applying their skills to a wide variety of normal home maintenance issues. • Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a general handyman or service technician in residential setting. • Must have hands-on maintenance skills and ability to take on technical responsibilities as deemed necessary • Must have own tools for performing the required job responsibilities • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and conflict management skills • Self-directed with ability to work autonomously • A high level of accountability and self-direction with attention to detail • Enthusiastic and friendly, with a demonstrated customer-centric orientation and good verbal and written communication skills • Must practice safe work habits (housekeeping, hazard identification) • Flexible with the willingness and ability to travel daily to residential locations mainly within the GTA and potentially to Muskoka as well • A valid “G” driver’s license (in good standing) for the province of Ontario and hold a valid insurance coverage • Ability to exercise compassion, tact and diplomacy in dealing with residents, families, and visitors Description: The Handyman candidate would ideally have a variety of home maintenance and improvement skills for repairs and maintenance of residential homes, cottages, and small craft water vessels. Responsibilities: • Responsible for the maintenance, repairs, landscaping and/or improvements of the physical conditions of residential properties and potentially cottages; • Perform mechanical and general electrical works (not involving a license), plumbing repairs, drywall and wall repairs, painting, carpentry, grounds maintenance, and other project/s as required; • Pool maintenance, yard and lawn maintenance and upkeep; • Complete maintenance of small craft water vessels (i.e. sea-doo, boat); • General property maintenance including organizing and cleaning yards and garden; • Be available outside normal working hours if necessary; • Supervise contractors/sub-contractors as needed • Perform other duties as assigned. Hours per week: Monday-Friday / Weekend Availability (if needed) 20-40 hrs/week Rate of Pay: TBD
