We are seeking a Financial Controller with a CPA designation and significant experience in the construction industry to join our team. This critical leadership role will oversee all financial operations for Mianco Group Inc. and its subsidiaries, ensuring financial stability, accuracy, and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Financial Strategy & Leadership: ● Develop and implement financial strategies to drive profitability across Mianco Group and its subsidiaries. ● Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support strategic decision-making. ● Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. Accounting & Financial Operations: ● Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger for multiple entities. ● Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. ● Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including intercompany transactions and consolidations. Budgeting & Forecasting: ● Lead the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts. ● Monitor and report on financial performance, analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions.
Compliance & Risk Management: ● Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. ● Oversee audits and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or errors. Industry-Specific Expertise: ● Leverage knowledge of construction project accounting, waste management, ready-mix concrete production, and property development to optimize financial processes. ● Manage job costing, progress billing, and revenue recognition for construction and development projects. ● Monitor inventory and production costs for the ready-mix concrete business. Systems & Technology: ● Evaluate and enhance financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy (e.g., transition to advanced systems such as Oracle NetSuite or Microsoft Business Central). ● Train and mentor staff on financial software and best practices. What We’re Looking For: ● Education & Certification: CPA designation is required. Experience: ● Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management or controllership. ● Strong background in the construction industry; experience with waste management, ready-mix concrete, and/or property development is a significant asset. Skills: ● Proficient in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Netsuite, Accumatica) and advanced in Excel. ● Exceptional knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting. ● Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. ● Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
