Requirements:
• Age Requirements: Minimum age of 12 years old to officiate Small Sided Games (7v7) and 14 - Adult for full-field matches (9v9 and 11v11).
• Certification: Successful completion of an Ontario Soccer Referee Course, such as:
o Small Sided Game Course (for U8-U10 games)
o Entry Level Course (for U12 and older games)
• Physical Fitness: Ability to keep up with the speed of play and meet the demands of officiating.
• Understanding of Soccer Rules: Strong knowledge of FIFA Laws of the Game an Ontario Soccer modifications for youth soccer.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to confidently enforce decisions and manage interactions with players, coaches, and parents.

Our referees play a critical role in ensuring that matches are officiated professionally and in accordance with the rules of the game.
Position Overview:
As a Soccer Referee (Match Official) you will be responsible for officiating matches during our house league, rep, and tournament games. You will enforce the Laws of the Game, ensure player safety, and help maintain a respectful and fun environment for all participants. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about soccer who want to contribute to the game while gaining valuable officiating experience. The position will also help you develop confidence and leadership skills.
Training is through Ontario Soccer, but we will support you through the process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Officiate Matches: Apply the Laws of the Game for U8, U10, U12, and older divisions in both recreational and competitive programs.
• Manage Game Flow: Start and stop play, ensure fair competition, and make calls on fouls, misconduct, and offside decisions.
• Ensure Safety: Monitor player equipment, enforce safety rules, and stop play when necessary for injuries or dangerous conditions.
• Maintain Professionalism: Demonstrate impartiality, respect, and integrity towards players, coaches, and spectators.
• Communicate Effectively: Clearly explain decisions and game situations to players and coaches as needed.
• Complete Match Reports: Submit accurate game results and any disciplinary reports as required by LSSC policies.
Hours: evenings through the week, and occasional weekend tournaments or other events. Schedule your own availability.
