Job Title: Community Driver - Casual   Date Posted: 03/19/25 Ref. Number: 413 Type: Full Time Part Time Location: Georgina Requirements: Minimum G class license required. F class license or greater preferred. Must have a clear 3-year driving record. Recent Vulnerable Sector Screening (or willing to complete). Experience driving commercial vans or buses. Experience with driving for commercial purposes preferred, ideally with bus driving experience. Description: Location: Georgina, with regular travel across York Region and surrounding areas. Includes travel to Toronto. Purpose: To provide safe, timely and compassionate transportation services to clients and community members in York Region requiring a wheelchair accessible vehicle or our community bus. To support community outreach and engagement by providing delivery services and group rides as required. This role is intended to support our transportation program when primary drivers are unavailable. Working Conditions & Hours: Responsible for driving an accessible van and/or 20-seater bus (if applicable). Flexible hours depending on resident transportation needs and primary driver availability. Evening and weekend work required. Ability to sit, and drive, for extended periods of time. Must be comfortable driving in York Region, Toronto and surrounding areas, and working with complex, barriered individuals. Be capable of assisting clients in wheelchairs up accessible ramp into van. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operate an accessible van with chair lift or ramp and/or a 20-passenger community bus with a chair lift. Provide exceptional quality customer service while driving. Perform and record driver safety checks and monitor regular maintenance of vehicles. Communicate all driving and maintenance concerns to the Executive Director/Transportation Services Supervisor. Maintain vehicle, professional appearance, and attitude at all times. Wage: $19-$21/hr Hours per week: Flexible Schedule flexible Rate of Pay: $19- $21/ hour
