**Opportunity**

Position: As the Human Resources Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the HR team across various functions. Your attention to detail and positive attitude will play an essential role in employee engagement, retention, and fostering a positive work environment. You will contribute to HR programs and services, including full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, health and wellness support, and administrative activities.

Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Stouffville, Ontario, and/or local animal centre locations.

**Essential Duties Snapshot**

**Recruitment**
- Assist the HR team in recruitment for provincial offices and animal centres, including pre-screen interviews, reference checks, background checks, and onboarding tasks.
- Oversee the Canada Summer Jobs and Co-op program.
- Post employment opportunities on job boards and social media platforms.
- Respond to employment inquiries via phone and email.
- Log recruitment data and update reports.
- Assist in updating and maintaining position descriptions.

**Training and Development**
- Participate in new employee orientation, welcome emails, presentations, and mandatory training assignments in ADP.
- Prepare training resources to support HR initiatives.

**Employee Health, Safety, and Wellness**
- Support HR with Occupational Health and Safety activities and programs.
- Coordinate JHSC and H&S representative meetings, create agendas, and take minutes.
- Ensure monthly workplace inspections are completed.
- Conduct incident analysis and reporting.
- Assist in H&S compliance, including updating the H&S board, employee training, first aid training, emergency drills, and AODA accessibility compliance.

**Additional Functions**
- Maintain Viva Engage community content on HR channels.
- Upload and manage documents in SharePoint folders.

**Are You a Match?**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
- 1-2 years of office administration experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Experience with virtual learning/hosting technologies (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams).
- Experience with HRIS (ADP) is an asset.
- Recruitment experience is an asset.
- Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification is an asset.
