Description:
The employer- an Eastern European grocery store is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Shelf Merchandiser to join our team. This role is responsible for efficiently operating the cash register, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring shelves are well-stocked and attractively displayed. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, good organizational skills, and the ability to manage both customer interactions and store merchandising.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cashier Duties:

Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and process payments by cash, credit, or debit.

Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product locations.

Bag and package purchases with care, ensuring that items are handled properly.

Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring a professional appearance.
2. Shelf Merchandising:

Stock shelves with products, ensuring items are properly labeled and organized.

Monitor inventory levels, restock items when necessary, and report any shortages or discrepancies to the manager.

Arrange displays to highlight promotions and featured products, ensuring they are visually appealing and accessible to customers.

Ensure all products on display meet quality standards, checking for damaged or expired items.
3. Customer Service:

Assist customers with their shopping needs, including locating products, providing recommendations, and answering questions.

Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional manner and escalate concerns to the manager if necessary.

Provide information on store promotions, discounts, and special offers to customers.
4. Store Maintenance:

Maintain the cleanliness of the store, including shelves, display areas, and the checkout counter.

Assist with maintaining an organized stockroom and storage areas.

Follow all safety guidelines and ensure that aisles and displays are free of obstructions.
