Requirements:
Experience teaching or leading dance and/or drama with children or teens
Background in performing arts (theatre, dance, musical theatre, etc.)
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to adapt lesson plans to various age groups and skill levels
CPR/First Aid certification (may be required or provided by the camp)
Must pass a background check
Availability to live/work onsite for the duration of the camp season
Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Dance/Drama Instructor to lead performing arts activities at our summer camp. The instructor will be responsible for planning and facilitating engaging dance and drama sessions for campers aged [5–16, depending on camp]. You’ll work with other staff to help campers build confidence, teamwork, and performance skills, culminating in end-of-session showcases or performances.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance and drama classes
Choreograph dance routines and direct skits or short plays
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and creativity
Collaborate with other camp staff on special events and performance days
Supervise campers and ensure their safety during activities
Provide mentorship and support to campers of varying skill levels
Hours per week:
Monday-Friday
35 hrs per week
Rate of Pay:
$17.20/hr
