QUALIFICATIONS:
•Post-secondary training in a related field such as completion of a recognized buildingmaintenance certificate program, recognized Security certificate program or equivalentexperience
•5 years of skilled or semi-skilled maintenance experience and / or security experience
•Minimum 2 years experience in a management position or equivalent
• Ability to utilize relevant computer software programs including but not limited to, Office 365, AutoCAD, Computerized Maintenance Systems, Keyscan Aurora and HIK Vision IVMS Software
• Valid Security License, First AID and CPR Certificate is required
• Use of Force, Working at Heights training is an asset
• Must have a working knowledge of related legislation such as Occupational Health & Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS and various Security regulations
• Proven ability to maintain organized information systems for projects and/or department including records management
• Demonstrated leadership skills – able to prioritize assignments and assist more junior employees as required
• Extremely organized, with a strong attention to detail and superior multi-tasking skills
This position will be required to be on-site and provide on-call support to address urgent issues outside of operating hours.
Description:
The employer is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Manager, Maintenance & Security. Reporting to the Director, Facilities & Procurement, this position will manage the maintenance, outside maintenance staff, security guards and service contractors in all aspects related to the maintenance and security of the facility including buildings, equipment and grounds on both campuses. Ensures the efficient and cost effective operation of CCNM’s support services.
Some of the responsibilities will include but not limited to:
•Generates and prioritizes long and short-term work orders for predictive and preventativemaintenance activities while considering the environmental aspects and impacts of newprojects
•Schedules inspects and maintains all mechanical, plumbing, electrical, parking, security,safety / emergency (fire, intrusion, access control, CCTV and parking systems as well aswater quality, and interior air quality) and HVAC systems for CCNM and implementsemergency and minor repairs. Recommends capital repair and upgrades to systems andassists in development and modifications
•Responds to emergencies that arise; coordinates activities with other departments; directsthe work of staff and ensures the effective utilization of resources to implement repairs andensure the safety of the community
•Ensures that CCNM meets all municipal and other government regulations as to buildingsafety, maintenance and WHMIS requirements (MSDS, labels etc.)
•Develops the operating budget; orders materials and supplies; assists in using a properbidding process for purchases: monitors and tracks expenditures
•Develops preventative maintenance plans listing each step in the PM and monitors thefrequency and results of the PM work and ensures all scheduled PM tasks are achieved
•Manages the maintenance parts inventory and personal protective inventory ensuringadequate supplies are always maintained in an organized manner
•Provides daily supervision to staff by determining workloads, schedules and prepares workplans by associate for one to two weeks in advance, modifying daily based on workcompletions and new requirements.
