Number: 705 Type: Full Time Part Time Location: York Requirements: Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and licensed 310T / 310S School Bus Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing school buses and other fleet vehicles to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy-duty vehicles and possess a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on school buses and fleet vehicles Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify issues Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site repairs as needed Collaborate with the dispatch and operations team to ensure vehicle availability Stay current with industry best practices and new technologies Follow all workplace safety regulations and company policies Qualifications & Requirements: Valid 310T or 310S Truck and Coach Technician License (required) Previous experience as a mechanic, preferably in the school bus or transit industry Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle diagnostics and repair Familiarity with MTO safety standards and regulations Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and organizational skills Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40.00–$42.00 per hour Flexible Language Requirement: French not required Schedule: Monday to Friday Application Question(s): Are you currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program?
