Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Welding License required, with previous fabrication experience.
• Post-secondary education required.
• Knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed filling, labeling, and packaging machines.
• Knowledge of packaging line setup, adjustment, and maintenance.
• Licensed as an Industrial Millwright, Machinist, or in Welding Fabrication.
Description:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that all machinery and equipment remain in good working condition. The role also includes performing and documenting regular preventive maintenance to support efficient production operations and ensure compliance with governing
regulations. • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment with a strong sense of urgency, ensuring safe and efficient operations. • Apply working knowledge of electrical systems to support timely repair and replacement
activities. • Complete preventive maintenance work orders, accurately account for spare parts usage and labor, and maintain records within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). • Perform and document preventive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment,
including conveyors, drives, pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Maintain and repair equipment such as unscramblers, inkjet coders, conveyors, labelers, fillers, cappers, torquers, case erectors, tape machines, and case coders. • Organize and maintain the maintenance shop, tools, and equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
• Uphold GMP standards by maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment. • Ensure timely and accurate completion of work order documentation and reporting. • Support production lines with equipment changeovers, setups, and assist in training production staff on proper equipment use, cleaning, and adjustments. • Identify and report workplace hazards and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, GDP, and GMP requirements. • Perform other related duties as assigned to support continuous improvement and operational
excellence.
