Requirements:
University degree or College diploma in either Recreation and Leisure Studies, Social Sciences, or related discipline.
One (1) to three (3) years of related experience in the design, development and delivery of adult/senior’s programs and events in a Municipal Recreation considered an asset.
Strong working knowledge of computer applications/registration system including Active Net, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.)
Current Standard First Aid, CPR – Level C, and AODA certification, required.
Availability to work flexible hours and/or shifts and attend evening and/or weekend programs/activities/meetings/events.
Ability to deal courteously and effectively with all levels of staff, elected officials, community groups, program participants, general public, external agencies, and other levels of government.
Excellent interpersonal, public relations, organizational, analytical, and coaching/facilitation skills.
Valid class “G” license in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on Town business.
Description:
The Programmer, Adult & Older Adults is responsible for the design/development, implementation and supervision of adult and older adult recreation programs. The Programmer, Adults and Older Adults will supervise the Centre’s activities and events, volunteer committees and groups and be responsible for payroll, scheduling, program evaluation, budget preparation, as well as other administrative functions at the Centre.
Responsibilities:
Recommends, formulates, develops and implements adult and older adult programs, activities, special events, excursions/day trips.
Assist with the preparation of marketing materials such as the monthly newsletter, seasonal program brochures and other departmental promotional materials.
Respond to enquiries and resolves concerns from the general public, participants, and other levels of government regarding senior’s programs, special events.
Assist in the coordination and logistics of excursions and special events including: the annual budget, transportation and itinerary planning.
Ensures a safe environment of the Centre and off-site locations and deals with emergency situations in accordance with departmental procedures.

$77,210.85 - $96,513.06
