Requirements:
3D CAD Modeling & File Preparation
▪Create 3D models based on customer files, sketches, or engineering input.
▪Repair and optimize models for 3D printing (thickness, clearances, tolerances, supportability, etc.).
▪Support project teams by providing modeling expertise for mechanical design & modifications.
▪Convert and manage files from multiple formats (STEP, IGES, STL, etc.).
▪Generate basic drawings or markups when needed to communicate design intent.
3D Printer Operation & Scheduling
▪Set up print jobs, including slicing, orientation, support strategy, and material selection.
▪Populate and maintain a daily print schedule across 10+ printers to meet internal and customer deadlines.
▪Prioritize and re-prioritize builds as rush jobs and changes come in.
▪Monitor print progress, respond to issues, and minimize downtime.
▪Document job details, machine usage, and status updates in the production tracking system.
Maintenance & Material Management
▪Perform routine 3D printer maintenance (nozzle changes, calibration, bed leveling, basic troubleshooting).
▪Assist with material loading/unloading, changeovers, and tracking of filament and consumables.
▪Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized print area, including tools and workstations.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
▪Inspect printed parts for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and functional requirements.
▪Record defects, assist in root cause investigations, and propose improvements to print settings and workflows.
▪Contribute to standard operating procedures for print setup, scheduling, and maintenance.

Beneficial Skills & Experience
▪Extensive 3D CAD experience with at least one major platform (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, Design X, CATIA, NX, or similar).
▪Strong ability to create, modify, and repair 3D models for manufacturing.
▪Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, juggle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changes.
▪High attention to detail with an active approach to problem solving and quality improvement.
▪Comfortable working on the production floor: standing, moving between machines, handling materials, etc.
▪Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with project managers and production staff.
Assets (not required)
▪Hands-on experience operating FDM 3D printers (desktop or industrial).
▪Experience with slicing software (e.g., GrabCAD Print, Insight, Simplify3D, 3D Sprint, etc.).
▪Experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, or production environment.
▪Basic understanding of 2D drawings, tolerances, and DFAM (design for additive manufacturing).
▪Experience with basic hand tools and shop practices (measuring, part handling).
▪Familiarity with ERP/MES systems or digital job-tracking tools.
▪Knowledge of other additive processes (SLA, SLS, DLP, MJF, etc.).
Education & Training
▪Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or a related technical field; OR
▪Equivalent combination of relevant work experience and technical training.
▪Additional 3D CAD certifications (e.g., CSWA/CSWP, Autodesk) are an asset.

We’re growing our team and looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented 3D Printer Operator & 3D CAD Designer to help us keep our fleet of 3D printers running smoothly.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys both 3D design and hands-on work in the printing lab, and who can stay organized in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
Position Overview
In this hybrid role, you will mainly split your time between:
▪Preparing, repairing, and optimizing 3D CAD files for printing
▪Creating 3D models as per customer specification and/or reverse engineering
▪Operating and scheduling 10+ industrial 3D printers (primarily FDM)
▪Performing routine maintenance, changeovers, and material management
▪Assisting with post-production activities of printed parts (support removal, inspection, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits
▪Competitive hourly wage starting at 52,000/yr, based on experience and skills.

Work Environment & Schedule
▪On-site role in a production environment.
▪Full-time, typically Monday–Friday 9:30–17:30 with overtime during peak demand.
▪Work involves standing, walking, lifting light-to-moderate loads of materials and parts.
▪Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided as required.
