Job Title: Junior Inclusion Facilitator Summer Camps 2026 - Seasonal Contract

Requirements: 1.High school student with some experience working with children, youth and/or adults in recreational delivery settings including persons with special needs.
2.Certifications such as Counsellor in Training Program, Inclusion Counsellor in Training, National Coaching Certification Program or equivalent.
3.Ability to participate and assist participants in a variety of recreational activities which may include adapted activities, swimming, skating, and other sports including the ability to assist with lifts & transfers.
4.Ability to deal courteously and effectively with participants, other staff, parents/guardians, participant support teams as well as the public.
5.Good organizational and leadership skills.
6.Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required.
7.Lifesaving Society’s Safeguard certification required.
8.Current High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification required.
9.Behaviour Management Systems, Safe Management or Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification is required.
10.Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town (Those 18 Years & Older) or the completion of Declaration of Minors – Working with Vulnerable Individuals Self Declaration Form (Those 17 Years and Younger) is required.
Please Note: Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.

Description: Seasonal Position - Less than 6 month contract. Approximate start date June.

The Successful Candidate will:
1.Guide participants with disabilities through safe, and well-planned activities in a group setting.
2.Assist in adapt activities and make modifications to program plans as needed.
3.Provide additional support in managing behavioural challenges to ensure safety of participants with disabilities, other participants and staff. Occasionally may involve physical contact with participants (i.e. guidance).
4.Provide personal care of children/youth/adults with disabilities, as required, including toileting, changing and feeding.
5.Respond to emergency situations including performing minor first aid and/or arranging for medical assistance.
6.Communicate with parents/guardians on a frequent basis and collaborate with other program staff to resolve issues or concerns.
7.Collaborate with other program staff and supervisors to discuss program plans, ideas, areas of concern, and participant information (i.e. behaviours, interests, triggers, strategies, etc.)
