Job Requirements
1.Post-secondary diploma in Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant progressive experience in marketing, communications, or fundraising.
2.Demonstrated experience supporting marketing strategy and execution, with proficiency in project coordination, copywriting, and copy editing. Familiarity with both print and digital marketing, including layout and basic graphic design principles.
3.Working knowledge of social media campaign coordination, including scheduling, content support, proofreading, and basic analytics reporting across platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
4.Strong visual awareness and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously.
5.Ability to support the development of integrated marketing and fundraising strategies and assist in tactical execution, including content development, timeline tracking, and coordination of deliverables such as signage, branding, event materials, and social media content.
6.Comfortable assisting with sponsorship and donor engagement activities, including maintaining prospect databases, preparing presentation materials, writing grants, supporting solicitation efforts, and tracking agreements and deliverables in internal systems.
7.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and in particular Microsoft® PowerPoint, with the ability to assist in the creation of sponsorship and fundraising presentations and follow-up materials.
8.Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors, sponsors, donors, and community stakeholders.
9.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
10.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
11.Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends to support events and campaigns.
12.Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (in-office and remote), with familiarity using tools such as MS Teams, Zoom, and shared file transfer systems.
13.Event Planning & Execution: Familiarity planning and executing fundraising events (including thank you lunches / dinners, receptions, awards events, fundraisers etc.)
14.Manage planning, project management, event execution; including but not limited to: theme, décor, venue, rentals, invite lists; speech writing, agendas, entertainment and project lead on site at event.
15.Possession of a valid Class G driver’s license in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel.

Contract - 12 months part time
Under the direction of the Manager, Programs and Community Engagement, the Marketing and Fundraising Specialist supports the library’s strategic goals by assisting with marketing initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and donor engagement activities. This role contributes to the development and execution of sponsorship, donor, and grant strategies, while also supporting event planning and communications efforts.
