Job Title: Parks Labourer - Seasonal - 6 Month Contract   Date Posted: 02/25/26 Ref. Number: 955 Type: Full Time Part Time Location: East Gwillimbury Requirements: Qualifications would include: • Available to commence work on April 13, 2026 – October 30, 2026. • Grade 12 education preferred or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario, Ministry of Education. • Minimum Class G driver's license with 3-years’ experience in good standing with Driver’s Abstract. • Access to a reliable vehicle. • Minimum 3-years previous experience in general landscape maintenance. • Effective communication skills both oral and written. • Possess ability to read, write and comprehend operation manuals, memos, letters, and equipment manuals. • Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health & Safety Act. • Understanding of Health & Safety issues relevant to daily operations/equipment usage. • Ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team. • Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. • Proficient time management skills and flexibility in adjusting between varieties of duties. • Ability to interact courteously with staff, park users/groups and the public. Description: Reporting to the Parks Supervisor, or delegate, the Seasonal’s responsibilities would include: • Operation of landscape/farm equipment such as farm tractor, utility vehicle, dump truck and towing trailers. • Operation of hand/power tools and equipment in a safe manner. Carrying out pre-trip inspections on all equipment. • General maintenance duties (mowing/trimming, sports field work, horticulture, trail/playground work & waste collection). • Leading a crew of up to four students in completing daily tasks, providing oversight and quality control. • Adherence to all safety precautions and procedures required in the workplace in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ministry of Transportation Temporary Conditions for Road Work and policies of the Corporation. • Must be physically capable of performing manual labour in all weather conditions. • Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends, when required.
