Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor of Social Work Degree or equivalent combination of Bachelor level education and experience (preferred).
Minimum of 1-2 years’ work experience in a social service field (preferred).
Knowledge of community resources available in York, Durham and Peel Region and surrounding areas.
Ability to travel between York, Durham, and Peel Region.
Skilled in providing leadership and direction to individuals and teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong ability to problem solve in conflict and/or crisis situations.
Knowledge, understanding and promotion of anti-oppressive practices.
Experience working with vulnerable populations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
Standard First Aid and CPR-C required.
Crisis prevention training would be an asset.
Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening police check required.
Valid Driver’s license, reliable vehicle and insurance to travel for work.
Must be able and willing to work with a flexible schedule.
Description:
Position: Training Coordinator.
Job Status: Full Time, Permanent (75% in-person, 25% ability to work from home). Existing role.
Job Location: Construct Training Centre (Aurora), travel across York, Peel, and Durham Region required.
Hours of Work: 40 Hours/Week.
Salary: $50,000-$55,000.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Training and Employment, the Training Coordinator facilitates day-to-day social components of the program. This role facilitates in-person and virtual training sessions for cohorts of 10–30 participants, tracks attendance and performance outcomes, and conducts regular check-ins to ensure progress from intake through graduation. The Training Coordinator works with participants to identify and address barriers to success by providing coaching, mentorship, conflict resolution, and wraparound supports.
Working collaboratively with the team and external partners across Peel, Durham, and York Region, the Training Coordinator attends third-party training sessions, supports job placement efforts, and fosters strong employer and community relationships. The role promotes a positive, inclusive culture while maintaining detailed documentation and program records. This person must be a team player – participating in team meetings, providing new ideas on how to enhance and improve the program, as well as being flexible in completing various tasks as needed with a consistency and within the values, goals and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with program participants, staff, and external partners.
Facilitate engaging virtual and in-person training sessions for cohorts, consisting of 10–30 participants.
Attend and support participants at off-site third-party training, workshops, and tours across Peel, Durham, and York Region.
Identify participant barriers and provide wraparound support, coaching, and mentorship from intake through graduation.
Collaborate with the Manager, Training and Employment, and support staff to ensure participants are supported throughout the program and beyond.
Coordinate with employers and community organizations to secure employment opportunities for participants.
Address participant concerns proactively, including conflict resolution and promoting a positive program culture.
Support participant well-being through regular check-ins, mental health support, and ensuring a safe learning environment.
Connect participants with relevant community resources and services as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation, including attendance tracking and detailed participant records.
Contribute to program growth, outreach initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Represent the program at community presentations, job fairs, and industry events.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Provides referrals and follow-up as necessary.
Meets with manager on a regular basis and participates in completion of annual performance evaluation.
