About the Role

An established company with over 80 years of experience in custom pool and spa design, installation, renovation, retail, and service is seeking an organized, customer-focused, and proactive Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, team coordination, customer service excellence, and retail sales growth.

Role Overview

The Assistant Store Manager plays a key leadership support role within the retail operation. This individual assists in overseeing daily store activities while helping maintain an exceptional customer experience, operational organization, inventory accuracy, merchandising standards, and sales support.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines customer service, operational coordination, retail sales support, and team assistance in a fast-paced seasonal environment.

Key Responsibilities
Store Operations Support
Support daily retail store operations and customer service activities.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Help maintain store organization, cleanliness, merchandising, and presentation standards.
Support inventory organization, stock replenishment, and product displays.
Assist with maintaining pricing accuracy and promotional signage.
Coordinate with warehouse and service teams regarding product availability and customer orders.
Customer Experience & Sales Support
Deliver a premium customer experience.
Assist customers with product selection, water care solutions, and general retail inquiries.
Support retail sales initiatives, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Assist in resolving customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
Support customer engagement and retention initiatives.
Team & Administrative Support
Support scheduling coordination and store coverage planning.
Assist with onboarding and training seasonal retail staff.
Reinforce operational procedures and company standards.
Support communication between store staff, management, and other departments.
Assist with administrative tasks, reporting, and operational follow-up.
Help ensure adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and operational expectations.
Inventory & Operational Coordination
Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
Monitor low inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
Support receiving and organization of incoming products and retail supplies.
Help ensure operational efficiency during peak seasonal periods.
Support implementation of new retail initiatives and operational improvements.
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of retail, customer service, or operational coordination experience.
Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
Professional, dependable, and solution-oriented mindset.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail systems.
Flexibility to work weekends and seasonal peak schedules.
Preferred
Leadership or supervisory experience in retail or service operations.
Experience in pool, spa, home improvement, or seasonal retail industries.
Experience with POS systems and inventory management.
Valid G Driver’s License.
