Requirements: Education and experience Qualifications:

Completion of Secondary School (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Valid Food Safe Certification required.
Up to 3 months of related restaurant or food service experience.
Demonstrate cash handling proficiency, basic math skills, and ability to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
Deliver strong customer service with excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills in a fast-paced environment.
Exhibit organization and efficiency with strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to work neatly and safely.
Work independently and collaboratively as a reliable team member while showing initiative, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
Maintain professionalism and integrity while exercising sound judgment and adaptability in dynamic situations.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $17.60 to $19.85 with a maximum of $23.82.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
Description: Position Purpose:
The Dining Hall & Food Services Worker provides professional, friendly, and welcoming services by providing excellent customer service, and oversight for the Jackson’s Point Retreat and Conference Centre’s (JPRCC) Dining Hall. The incumbent is the front of house contact for the dining hall and responsible for managing customer experience while they are guests at The Salvation Army Jackson’s Point Conference Centre.

Key Accountabilities:

Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting guests, serving food and beverages, and creating a welcoming dining experience.
Guide guest choices by explaining menu items, chef specialties, and accommodating dietary needs and restrictions.
Coordinate order execution by accurately recording requests, communicating with kitchen staff, and managing meal timing.
Ensure timely and efficient service by delivering food and beverages promptly with all required accompaniments.
Monitor guest satisfaction by proactively checking in, responding to requests, and resolving complaints professionally.
Maintain dining presentation by setting, clearing, and resetting tables while upholding a clean and organized environment.
Support kitchen operations by assisting with basic food and beverage preparation as directed.
Uphold sanitation and safety standards by following food handling, cleanliness, and public health requirements.
Enforce health and safety compliance by properly using PPE, handling equipment safely, and adhering to OH&S regulations.
Document and report incidents while maintaining essential service records and supporting overall operational compliance.
Working Conditions:

This is a casual/relief position.
There are no standard weekly hours of work as an “elect-to-work” position, no guaranteed hours and work will be offered on an as needed basis; shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Hours and work schedule will vary as operational requirements and follows a work rotation schedule and will include days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Rate of Pay: $17.60 to $19.85 with a maximum of $23.82.
