Requirements:
• Experience: Prior experience in mobile operations, event production, carnival/amusement rides, equipment handling, construction, or mechanical maintenance is an asset (training provided).
• Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with hand tools, hydraulic systems, basic hardware, and power distribution setups.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs regularly, work long hours on your feet, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, rain, cool weather).
• Travel & Mobility: Valid driver’s license (Clean abstract preferred); willingness to travel to diverse sites across the GTA and outer regional locations.
• Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays aligned with peak event schedules.
• Certifications: TSSA Amusement Device Operator certification, Working at Heights, or First Aid/CPR are strong assets (or willing to obtain).
Description:
We are seeking a hands-on, reliable, and hardworking Operations & Event Setup Specialist to join our core team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our amusement operations: traveling to event sites, assembling and dismantling rides and attractions, performing daily mechanical and safety checks, and operating equipment during live events.
This position requires physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, flexibility to travel, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Setup & Teardown (Load/Unload):
o Transport, unload, erect, and securely anchor amusement rides, game booths, and event infrastructure following strict safety standards and site plans.
o Dismantle, pack, and secure equipment post-event for safe highway transit.
• Daily Maintenance & Safety Inspections:
o Perform daily pre-opening mechanical, electrical, and structural inspections on assigned rides and equipment.
o Execute routine maintenance, troubleshooting, lubrication, and minor repairs as needed.
o Complete required daily safety logs and regulatory inspection paperwork accurately.
• Ride & Event Operation:
o Safely operate assigned amusement rides and equipment during live public events.
o Enforce safety guidelines, height/weight requirements, and seating rules for all patrons.
o Provide friendly, professional customer service to event guests, parents, and local venue partners.
• Travel & Field Operations:
o Travel regularly across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and to remote or regional event locations across Ontario as required by event schedules.
o Assist with site setup logistics, power connections (generators/cabling), and perimeter fencing.
