Number: 811 Type: Full Time Part Time Location: Markham Requirements: About the position: The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing guest rooms to hotel standards. This role ensures a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests by delivering high-quality housekeeping service and attention to detail. Duties and Responsibilities • Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel standards and procedures • Make beds, change linens, and replace towels • Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors • Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and dust furniture and fixtures • Replenish guest room amenities and supplies • Inspect rooms for cleanliness, damages, or maintenance issues and report them to the supervisor • Follow daily cleaning schedules and productivity standards • Respond to guest requests in a courteous and professional manner • Properly use and maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies Qualifications and Requirements • Previous housekeeping or room attendant experience is a MUST • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness • Good communication and customer service skills • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, pushing carts, standing, and walking for extended periods • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays HEALTH AND SAFETY Duties and Responsibilities • Followall health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures • Properly handle cleaning chemicals and use personal protective equipment (PPE) • Report all accidents, injuries, lost and found items, or unsafe conditions immediately • Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment at all times Description: About the position: • The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing guest rooms to hotel standards. This role ensures a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests by delivering high-quality housekeeping service and attention to detail. • Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Due to the nature of the business, preferred working days cannot be accommodated. • Hours: during weekdays 8am - 4:30pm, during weekends and holidays 9am - 5:30pm • For full timer opportunity: usually 5 days a week (unless during low season). For part time opportunity: usually 2 days a week minimum • Previous cleaning at fast pace environment is preferred. • Comfortable in cleaning 16 rooms a day. This is the industry standard. • Rate: $19.48 per hour. After 3 months probation rate change to $20.50 • Health benefit is included for full time positions only. • Must be a friendly individual who will put guest services in priority. Hours per week: 25-40 Rate of Pay: $19.48/hour for a probation period
