Requirements:       College diploma or University degree; or an equivalent combination of related experience and education. Holder of Provincial Red Seal preferred. Minimum of 3 years of direct or indirect supervisory work experience in a larger scale food production facility. Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and leadership applications within a production environment. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and Provincial Safety Regulations. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment and across multiple departments. Ability to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflicts. Strong ability to train new employees and transfer knowledge in a patient and consistent manner. Alignment with the company charter. Ability to improvise in a tight production deadline.
Description: Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel to daily menu production, advanced production and co-packing opportunities. Communicate production changes to applicable internal stakeholders - Administration and Customer Service. Coordinate with direct reports to ensure that each shift operates at optimum efficiency and seamless handoffs take place between shift changes. Implement action plans to address any challenge of production such as packing errors, temperature retention, over-time control and on-time delivery. Take a lead in managing departmental performance and provide weekly Rolemax reports as scheduled. Participate in R&D related small and large scale product testing and menu development. Ensure food quality objectives are met including regular adherence to GMPs, performance of sanitation( by York Region) and HACCP(Third Party) audits, food safety checks, and product quality checks conducted according to policies. Ensure the production team members are following all the SSOP under the HACCP Food Safety Guide. Track usage of food inventory and inform Production Administrator for recipe and consumption adjustment. Lead the inventory control team by ensuring that all items received, stored and prepared in the storage area are tracked and documented according to health and safety regulations.
