Requirements:       Completion of college, vocational, or technical training an asset. Horticulturist Trade Certification or Lawn Gardener Trade Certification, an asset. Minimum 1-2 years of experience. Plant knowledge and identification, specifically trees, shrubs, and perennials. Physically fit with strong stamina. Ability to follow safe working procedures. Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team. Speak, read, and write English fluently
Description: Responsible for managing landscaping projects and overall assigned site. Responsible for maintaining gardens. Plan job in an effective manner to ensure optimum job efficiency and effectiveness. Use and operate tools and equipment used in horticulture. Plant seeds and transplant seedlings. Tree, shrub, and plant examination and treatment. Care for growing plant material by watering, pruning, weeding, cultivating, and removing dead or damaged leaf tissue. Inspect, handle, and transport nursery stock, as required. Plant fertilization and watering,Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges. General property, lawn and garden maintenance, including daily litter pick-up. Operate safely tools such as power mowers, push mowers, electric clippers, pruning saws and other landscape maintenance equipment, as required. Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments, shop + equipment. Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner.
Hours per week: Monday - Friday ( 40 )
Rate of Pay: $ 14.00 - $ 16.00 per hour range
