Requirements:       Minimum High School diploma required. Some college experience, a college diploma or an undergraduate degree would be an asset. Playground Inspection Certification would be an asset for future growth and development. Health Safety and Environmental training and experience is a desired asset. Experience conducting inspections in a professional environment. Good written and verbal communication skills - including report completion or note taking experience. Teamwork abilities to work in small teams. Valid driver’s license. Police Clearance – “Criminal Background Check” (CPIC). Physically able to lift materials from 1 pound up to approximately 75 pounds, with proper lifting techniques and concern for safety. Manual labour experience completing general repairs. Experience with designing, installing or repairing sports equipment, or playground equipment required.
Description: Gymnasium inspections- and tagging of equipment that may be in good condition, or may be in need of repair. Conduct repairs on gymnasium equipment, playground equipment, or other structural components in schools, gymnasiums, sports facilities or on outdoor playgrounds. Responsible for tearing down some older materials which may not meet inspection standards- such as stages, bleachers, or equipment. Install new equipment and new sporting equipment, including basketball backboard/nets and poles, some scoreboards, tennis nets, gym mats, gym and playground equipment. Work will include some hauling by truck, trailer or van of playground materials and will require some lifting and manual labour to install and ensure fastening and securing of materials/gym equipment. Cleaning is required of gymnasium materials and some general office maintenance. Responsible for typing or note taking of inspection reports, as well as taking pictures/photos of confirmed work sites.
Hours per week: Monday - Friday ( 40 )
Rate of Pay: $18 -$24 per hour
