Requirements:       Min 3 years experience in a stamped and welded environment
Description: • Solving tool & die problems arising during production runs, with the minimum interruption to production. Provide information whether to pull dies or continue with temporary solutions. • Provide a tool & die history by filling in or completing all work forms. i.e. time sheets, tool status and preventative maintenance reports, spare parts list, perishable tool inventory list, etc... • Make repairs, modifications, prototypes, engineering changes to existing tools, dies, production parts and fixtures. Ensure timely try-outs to meet production schedule requirements or customer’s delivery dates. Ensure all work meets high quality standards and includes changes in order to meet the requirements of the "Quick Die Change" program. • Actively participate in the design and development of methods of tooling and fixtures in order to meet quick die change objectives. • Direct the apprentices to ensure they receive proper training on toolroom equipment, safety, housekeeping, leadership, etc. • Be able to build new tooling or fixtures without supervision from strip layout drawings or customer product drawings. • Ensure compliance to all health & safety rules and housekeeping principles. Take steps to ensure substandard conditions and practices identified in monthly plant safety audits are corrected. • Participate in and provide expert advice to "Employee Involvement Teams", and occasionally participate on "Problem Solving Teams". • Be able to test dies by setting them up in the appropriate press and producing samples to customer drawings and specifications. • Advise management of all potential problems or concerns and offer any opportunities for improvement. • Will work in compliance with ISO 14001 and TS16949 standards. • Implementation and knowledge of SPC procedures as they relate to customer drawings and specifications
